Metal Manufacturing Finishing Process Controller

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as a Metal Manufacturing Finishing Process Controller. A Metal Manufacturing Finishing Process Controller controls the operational efficiency of the finishing process which includes operating and monitoring multi-functional machinery and equipment. A qualified learner will be able to: • Execute activities related to finishing processes.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): RPL for access to the external integrated summative assessment: Accredited providers and approved workplaces must apply the internal assessment criteria specified in the related curriculum document to establish and confirm prior learning. Accredited providers and workplaces must confirm prior learning by issuing a statement of result or certifying a work experience record. RPL for access to the qualification: Accredited providers and approved workplaces may recognise prior learning against the relevant access requirements. Entry Requirements: • Level 3 with Mathematical Literacy. Or • A minimum of 4 years working experience within the metal manufacturing environment as a Metal Finishing Process Operator.

• Conduct a risk assessment in the Metal Finishing Process operations by identifying appropriate actions that deal with deviations and mitigate the associated risks.
• Start, monitor, control and stop the finishing processes sequentially.
• Perform quality assurance checks according to specific procedures.
